Take Home Folder

                                                                     

First grade is a wonderful time for children to develop routines for school.  Each child has a home-school folder to travel back and forth between home and school.  As a part of our morning routine, children check their take home folder for bus notes, homework or other items they need to turn in.
At the end of the day they repack their take home folder with their mail and put it into their backpack.  Helping your child check their folder each day at home is greatly appreciated!  I will also give lots of reminders for children to empty their folders once at school.  If you find that your child is forgetting to pass in their homework log or notes to me, please just let me know and I would gladly help in establishing this routine.  
Some parents find it helpful to establish a place at home where their student can empty and refill their folder daily, the kitchen counter, a basket by the front door, the dining room table etc.
